Prepare the accessibility documents that the regulations require
The law does not just ask for an accessible website: it also asks you to explain how it is accessible. SiteNorma prepares the documents from your compliance matrix, with dates, versions and evidence.
Three documents, depending on your regulatory profile
Service accessibility information
For businesses covered by the European Accessibility Act. It is required by Annex V of Directive (EU) 2019/882 and Article 13.2 of Law 11/2023.
- A general description of the service in accessible formats.
- Explanations for understanding how it works.
- How the service meets the accessibility requirements.
It is included in the general terms and conditions or an equivalent document, in written and oral form, and is kept for as long as the service is in operation.
Accessibility statement
Mandatory for the public sector under Royal Decree 1112/2018, following the structure of the model in Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523. For a private company, it is voluntary good practice.
- Compliance status and non-accessible content.
- How and when it was prepared.
- Contact details and complaints procedure.
It must be reviewed at least once a year and linked from every page.
Disproportionate burden assessment
If meeting a requirement would impose a disproportionate burden, the law allows an exception, but you have to justify it. The template follows the criteria in Annex VI of Directive (EU) 2019/882: costs, estimated benefits and expected use.
The assessment is documented, kept and renewed at least every five years. In the public sector, the affected content is listed in the statement.
From the matrix to the document
- You choose the website’s regulatory profile: private service, public sector or voluntary.
- SiteNorma fills in the draft with what it already knows: the reference standard, the criteria that fail, the justified exceptions, and the evaluation date and method.
- You complete what only you know: how your service works, the alternatives you offer and your contact channels.
- You publish the document as accessible HTML to paste into your website, or as a page we host.
- Every change creates a new, dated version. We remind you when the annual review is due.
“Fully compliant” is never automatic
A statement can only say that a website is fully compliant if all the requirements are met, with no exceptions, after a full evaluation. SiteNorma never selects that option for you: if you choose it, we ask you to confirm that the full evaluation exists.
Try it for free, no sign-up needed
Our free generator prepares a draft accessibility statement or service accessibility information. It runs in your browser: what you type is not sent anywhere.
Legal review
The documents SiteNorma generates are well-structured templates, not legal advice. We recommend that your legal advisers review them before you publish them, especially the first time.
