Fix guides

The first guides are coming very soon. We are writing step-by-step guides to fixing the most common accessibility barriers, in Spanish first, and we review each one before publishing it.

What each guide will include

  • What is failing and why it matters, in plain language.
  • Who the barrier affects.
  • How to fix it, with before-and-after code examples.
  • How to check that the fix works, including with a keyboard and a screen reader.
  • The related WCAG success criterion and EN 301 549 clause.

The same guides will appear inside SiteNorma next to each issue.

First guides planned

  • Alternative text for images
  • Colour contrast
  • Labels and instructions in forms
  • Accessible error messages
  • Keyboard navigation and focus order
  • Visible focus
  • Headings and page structure
  • Links and buttons with a name
  • Page language
  • Touch target size
  • Captions and transcripts
  • Content reflow at 320 pixels

Which guide do you need?

If there is a barrier you are struggling to fix, tell us about it. It helps us decide the order in which we publish the guides.
